Historic Location

Have you visited Ruby Red’s wine cellar yet? Ruby Red’s wine cellar is located in an historic underground bomb shelter beneath a residential neighbourhood in Hongqiao. It still retains many of its original bomb shelter features and offers a fascinating glimpse into a piece of Cold War history.

The underground environment of our bomb shelter is very similar to that of the underground wine cellers of Europe - both maintain a year-round constant temperature and humidity. Ideal for the storage of wine!

These days the cellar is home to over 40,000 bottles of wine (that’s the equivalent of 4 containers of wine), representing 15 countries and over 800 different labels. Ruby Red’s wine cellar is a unique location offering one of Shanghai’s most interesting and comprehensive selections of wines and an undeniably fascinating wine experience.
