Join us as we meet Jean-Guillaume Prats, the engaging and outspoken former owner and current manager of second-growth Chateau Cos d’Estournel. He represents the fourth generation of his family to be involved in the management of this grand property, and is one of the youngest managers of any classed growth Bordeaux estate.
Jean-Guillaume has overseen the revitalisation and modernisation of Cos d’Estournel and is considered one of the leaders of the “changing of the guard” in Bordeaux.
The wines from this estate have been famously described by wine writer and critic Clive Coates in his book Grands Vins has having “both the power and the finesse, both the body and the delicacy, both the backbone and the fruit” to make a clear stand out from other St Estephes.
On Wednesday 8th February, Jean-Guillaume will lead us through a tasting of the wines of Cos d’Estournel, providing us with a fascinating behind-the-scenes glimpse into life on this illustrious estate.
