Andre Perret

Verlieu-Chavanay is a small village 15 km south of Vienne and is the place where André Perret practices the art of wine-making. As a young biology graduate, his passion for the vine made him return to the village, where he succeeded his father in 1982. The farmland, then mainly occupied by fruit-trees, was planted with vine-stocks and extended to 10 hectares. The vines are cultivated entirely by hand. André Perret is keen to avoid systematic treatments of his vines. Yields are controlled too, in order to achieve the quality and authenticity requirements that he himself has fixed. André’s wines have flavors and aromas expressing the exceptional growing conditions of the vines and the meticulous attention given to the making of the wine.

Andre Perret Condrieu Coteau De Chery 2009
Condrieu Chéry, with its golden yellow color, balances elegance with strength. Its strong nature comes from the exceptional exposure of the hillside and the age of the vine stocks. Its bouquet of citrus fruits, violets and peach-apricot flavors gives it a rich and full style. This wine can be kept from 3 to 10 years. It is best served at a temperature of 12-14 degrees. It is recommended to decant this wine before serving: the wine will then express all its character more rapidly. It goes perfectly with foie gras, a fattened pullet with cream of with seafood such as lobster and prawns.
Andre Perret Saint Joseph Rouge 2009
This Saint-Joseph with a deep garnet red color and ruby glints has a fruity flavor. Cherry and raspberry flavors blend to give an excellent taste, where tannins are present but silky. This wine will be at its best 5 to 7 years after maturation and it will go perfectly with grilled meats.

Andre Perret Saint Joseph Vieilles Vignes Les Grisieres 2009
This Saint-Joseph with a deep crimson red colour has a fruity black cherry and prune flavour. Tannins are present but very smooth. The palate is round and powerful yet at the same time elegant. One can identify the inimitable texture of old vines.
