Cambrico
Located to the north of Madrid, Cámbrico is situated in the heart of the beautiful National Park, Sierra de Francia (“French mountains) at 2600-2950 feet, where the conditions are ideal to obtain grapes of extraordinary quality. The estate produces two main varieties: Rufete and Tempranillo, both are wines of intense aromatic quality and finish. In Cámbrico we only work with grape varieties grown in the area since immemorial times. With the exclusive criteria to achieve the best quality, disdaining the production volume, we try to make the best wine our soil can give.

Cambrico Rufete 2006
This is one of the most exciting wine we have tasted this year, the Rufete grape is said to be a very old clone of Pinot brought to the Sierra de Francia mountains around 400 years ago by Frenchman, the vines are very old, a lot of them are unknown in age, it is dry grown, in fact almost like wild vines, tiny berry with very low yields, only 3780 bottles are made in 2006 with 21 month in French oak barrels. The wines is elegant showing silky texture with layers of beautiful aroma of berry and violets. Soft tannin, yet it carries the wines on the palate for a long finish, a wine for intellectuals and really takes some time to get to know it, but once you do, it is magical. |

The 2006 Tempranillo is sourced from 60-year-old vines and aged for 14 months in French oak. It is a darker ruby color with a bit more structure, density and grip. Smooth-textured, intense, and with good volume, it will benefit from 4-6 years of cellaring and has a drinking window extending from 2014 to 2025.
