Domaine de Triennes
In the late 1980's Jacques Seysses, founder of Domaine Dujac, and Aubert de Villaine, co-owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, started looking for a vineyard in the south of France. They were driven by the conviction that some great wines could be produced in the Var, an area typically known for its rosés and thin table wines. After much searching, at the end of 1989, they came upon the Domaine du Logis-de-Nans, an existing estate in Provence, northeast of Marseille and due east of Aix-en-Provence. They were attracted by the southern exposure of the vineyards and the clay and limestone soils, which in some areas resemble the great terroirs of Burgundy, in other the top coteaux of St. Emilion.
Situated deep in truffle country, vines have been grown here for two thousand years. The name of the estate comes from the triennia, the festivities held in honour of Bacchus that took place every three years in Roman times. This 40 hectare domaine boasts a range of grape varieties including Syrah, Viognier, Carignan, Cinsault, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The cool nights and slow ripening produces top quality fruit that is shaped into ripe but extremely elegant wines by Jacques's talented son, Jeremy, who runs the estate.

Domaine Triennes Rose 2010
This blush wine is made from grapes pressed following only a very brief period of skin contact. It results in a rosé of a very light pink color. An aromatic nose of red fruits and candy is followed by a round, harmonious and seamless palate. This wine will seduce you by its freshness and elegance. |

Domaine Triennes Les Aureliens 2008
A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, this is a robust wine with plenty of red fruits character and a toasty finish. This is an excellent food wine. It will pair particularly well with Mediterranean food. |

Domaine Triennes Merlot 2008
The Merlot greets you with a nose with cherry, blackcurrant and liquorice. On the palate, it is well structured, fresh, bright and with overtones of cacao and tobacco. We recommend decanting this wine before serving. |

Domaine Triennes Viognier Sainte Fleur 2009
Sainte Fleur is explosive on the nose with apricot, honeysuckle and honey aromas. It has great power and intensity, combined with a beautiful balance between richness, acidity and minerality. |

Domaine Triennes Saint Auguste 2007
Triennes' flagship red wine is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. A dark, dense wine with purple hues, it shows spicy aromas combined with ripe fresh fruit. The palate is rich and full of life with plenty of structure. This is a wine that needs some air to truly open up and show its best. |
