Jamet
Côte-Rôtie is the area in the northern Rhône where syrah display elegance and complexity no other region can compare. Among some of the best producers, Domaine Jamet is one of the stars in the region. Located in the hills next to the town of Ampuis in the heart of Cote Rotie, the domaine is run by two brothers; Jean-Luc, who handles the viticultural side and Jean-Paul, the Oenologist.
The Jamets have 6 hectares of vines averaging between 25 and 50 years old. Only tiny amount is made every year and the demand is always exceeding what the Domaine can produce. Total elevage is almost two years before bottling, with at least 20 months in cask. 25% new , 25% one-year, 25% two-year & 25% three-year old oak barrels. This wine is bottled unfiltered. At Ruby Red we are excited to receive a small allocation every year.

Jamet
Cote Rotie 2005
Intense, with warm roasted fig, currant comfiture and melted licorice notes that almost gush forth, but the briar patch, sweet tobacco, mineral and incense notes lend both definition and refinement. The long, long finish shows terrific intensity and a lingering note of sweet macerated black olive. Best from 2010 through 2020. 2,000 cases made. |

Jamet
Cote Rotie 2008
Vivid red. Highly fragrant, displaying scents of red berries, rose and baking spices, with a hint of white pepper. Smells like a sexy Burgundy. Lithe and precise raspberry and cherry flavors show a suave blend of sweetness and energy, with zesty acidity adding lift. Finishes on a nervy mineral note, with an excellent, floral-dominated persistence.
