Domaine du Pegau
Domaine du Pegau has some 47 acres in Chateauneuf du Pape, scattered among eleven different parcels, each bringing its own distinct character to the blend. Under the watchful eye of the Feraud family, vintners for over 300 years in the region, these vineyards produce fruit of the highest quality and result in wines that are considered among the world's greatest.
The vines on the estate have an average age of more than 60 years, and father and daughter team Paul and Laurence Féraud are fervent proponents of the most traditional wine-making style of Provence and Rhone. Their Chateauneuf-du-Pape includes all 13 of the regionally allowed grape varieties and is widely recognized as one of the top estates in Chateauneuf. These are full-bodied, spicy, fruity, concentrated wines that will continue to develop over the next few years and will drink well for at least a decade after that.

Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee 2006
The 2006 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee shares a similar meaty, gamy character intermixed with abundant notes of kirsch liqueur, ground pepper and Provencal herbs, sweeter tannins than the 2005, a voluptuous, full-bodied mouthfeel, and a long finish. This big, rich, impressive effort will age effortlessly over the next 20-25 years.

Domaine du Pegau Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Reservee 2007
The color is a dense plum/purple, and the wine shows considerable licorice, lavender, roasted herb, and meat juice characteristics – no doubt attributable to the old vines from which it is made. The fruit dominates, and the wine is intense, rich, and full-bodied. It will undoubtedly need 3-4 years of bottle age after its release, and should last 20-25 years based on the fact that their older vintages...are all still in terrific condition.
